i've had it

I'm tired of dealing with missed deliveries, wrong deliveries, mail screw ups, etc.

I'm going to talk to the USPS to find out about changing our street address.

We're #15. Martha, our neighbor at the end of the driveway is #15B. And the neighbor at the next house is #15 1/2.

We have our mailboxes and houses clearly marked with the appropriate numbers. We even put our LAST NAMES on our mailboxes.

Doesn't seem to fucking matter.

Hmm. I wonder if this can even be done. We shall see.

Clue-ments:

Lemme know how that works out for you. We have the double-whammy of having a 1/2 in our address number, and of being off the main street (Concord). Our "street" (read: gravel road) actually connects Lincoln Street and Linden Street.

I think that UPS & FedEx have it down, but it's always confusing if a new person tries to find our house based solely on the address. (And we always get the mail for 21 Concord & vice versa.)

We've thought more than once about asking the town to rename our stretch of road. I thought about asking the town to change our address to 7 Columbia Street. I could also see changing it to Lincoln, for continuity reasons.

rv - i've gotten to the point where I know who I need to ask for the change and how: our board of selectmen. I have to write a letter, explaining why we want this changed. Then, the safety committee (fire marshall, some other folks) will come out and check things, etc. And then, yea or nay.

I'm going to talk to Martha and the other neighbor about this, too. Just to give them a heads up.
