polls are closed

I had to remove the poll as it was messing up the formatting on my website. Thanks to those of you who responded. It looks like the white macbook is the preferred choice of discerning cluefairy.com readers.

I'm still trying to figure out when I'm going to buy it. I'm having a hard time letting go of my powerbook. *sniff*

Clue-ments:

when i first got my powerbook
i was sad that i couldn't get the 17".
now,
i wish i'd gotten the 12".

Mac OSX is so much better than Windows
at creating layers of work
that i don't need the lateral real estate.

i suspect that processor speeds
have been bumped up on all machines enough
that you can get a MacBook now
that's pretty close
to what your old PowerBook did.

they make the MacBooks in black, though,
which i would choose over the white anyday.
even the titanium is hard to keep clean.
white would be a disaster.

jhimm - That's my biggest worry about a white macbook. I think I'm going to troll through the internet and see what people have experienced with their white macbook and keeping it clean.

Chris's is a black macbook and I haven't noticed any issues with it getting dirty. I'm not adverse to the black one, either. Just prefer the white.

The macbook is way faster than my powerbook, I've already noticed that, which is nice, I have to say. God, remember the days it used to take minutes to power up a machine or to do tasks and now we notice speed problems in seconds? HAHAHA.

i dunno,
i watch people around me boot up windows machines
and i cringe.
especially while traveling yesterday,
people -booting up- cold laptops all the time.
whereas i just opened mine up,
and awoke it from sleep
and it was good to go.

i felt smug. :)

jhimm - i never shutdown my windows laptop, I always put it to sleep. I actually get asked a lot on the train or plane "how do you do that?" cause windows users don't seem to get it. Yeesh.

The main difference I've noticed is that with my windows machine, i have to reboot about once a week cause it seems to not be able to handle being in sleep mode all the time, whereas my mac I never have to reboot.

i think windows sleep has a memory leak or something. because i used to try to sleep my windows machine and it would just get slower and slower and slower.
