new york and new jersey

I took the train down to Penn Station early Friday afternoon to meet up with Elke. My final destination was her pad in Morristown, NJ, but we decided to meet up in NYC so we could get together with friends for dinner.

Jen, Devo, Elke, Iwan, Deb and I had dinner at burgers and cupcakes. The burger was good, the cupcake I had was so-so. It was chocolate with vanilla frosting filling. We then proceeded to walk over to 26th street and ended up atTillman's. After I had a bellini, Iwan and I ordered vesper's. You have to like gin if you're going to even remotely like a vesper. I liked it.

Anyway, Elke and I left the city around 10:30. We spent Saturday working on the real reason for my visit: help me write documentation for work-life credit for college. Elke is a great writer and while it's not like I couldn't have sent her my Word files and she used her editing skills remotely, I figured it would be better for me focus-wise if Elke and I were in the same room otherwise I would have continued my behavior of sitting down to write and oh, look, bright, shiny objects. And Elke was gracious enough to humor me. Sides, then we got to visit with each other.

It was a nice Saturday and after we had finished up the work it was time to play. We went to Barnes & Noble and Elke picked up a new French & Saunders DVD. We ate takeout from Penang and watched the DVD. I love Jennifer Saunders. I want to be like her.

Anyway, got up Sunday morning, went and had diner food and then Elke dropped me off at the Newark Amtrak station and I headed home. Nbh and I then went and saw 300 at the premium cinema. It was a good weekend.

Clue-ments:

Cluefairy - You forgot to mention our amazing parade discovery. Morristown has its very own roller derby team - The Morristown Madams. http://www.morristownmadams.com/ This has entertainment potential. Keep me posted if you and NBH want me to investigate tickets for your next visit. Maybe in the fall.

It was a good weekend!

Elke - Yeah! So, apparently Boston has a team but Natick doesn't so that's not as cool. It's cool when your home town has a team. Course, if they played against Boston maybe.....do you think we'd last through an entire game or will the novelty/horror have worn off way before it ends?
