I'm surprised it's opening so late in your end of the world. We saw it a week or two ago. It's not a bad little movie, though in truth it was probably my least favorite of the most recent films we've seen. On the other hand, we've been having very good luck with the most recent run of movies:


Hot Fuzz

Breach

Waitress

Painted Veil

All excellent movies. If you liked Shaun of the Dead you really must see Hot Fuzz. We may go back and see it a second time...

Ulrika - I didn't realize that Waitress was a late opening for us (which is unusual cause Boston is a fairly big city...:-). Waitress has gotten a good rating on rottentomatoes. I hope to see it this coming weekend when I'm down in NYC.

I loved Hot Fuzz (and Shaun of the Dead)! I have Painted Veil on the netflix. Hm. I didn't have Breach on my list of movies to see but have now added it cause I know we have very similar tastes in movies.

Yeah, I was sorta surprised that Waitress had opened here before Boston. Weird vagaries of indie distribution, I guess.

Breach was one I had been vaguely interested in anyway, but which then got picked up by the Crest,in Shoreline.

The Crest theater is a second-run movie house, but it's unusual in that they very rarely have even mediocre films there. Whoever picks their movies has a really good eye, and we've seen some marvelous films there because we took it on faith that if it was playing at the Crest, it was probably good. Dirty, Pretty Things is an excellent (if harsh) movie about the lives of the underclass of illegal immigrants in London, f'rinstance. So whenever something shows up there, I usually revise my estimate upward of how much I want to see that movie.

Ulrika - I'll add Dirty, Pretty Things to my netflix queue also. Ah, the closest to that we have here is The Brattle in Cambridge. But I'm not sure that all things shown there would have the kind of trust you have in The Crest!
