christmas was a blast

We had SO MUCH FUN in L.A. with the family. Every day was georgous and the sky wasn't even brown! :-) We went to the newly renovated Griffith Observatory, Disneyland xmas eve day (family tradition), took Lora's new telescope out and looked at the moon and mars*, had a great xmas day feast with tons of friends, went target shooting, saw Sweeney Todd and ate a lot of Mexican food. Life is good.

*There's a group of "guerilla astronomers" who show up on main street in Monrovia once a month with their telescopes and try to engage the public in astronomy. This was the first time Lora had taken the telescope out. We set it all up and looked all cool hanging with the real astronomers (the female astronomer showing everyone all the cool toys works on the Cassini project at JPL. She's a real hoot). Chris and I want to get a telescope.
