finally gave in
I am now the proud owner of a new, shiny, black iPhone. It's iTastic!
Am officially no longer made of 60-70% water, but 60-70% Macintosh/Apple Kool-Aid. Drink deeply, cf.

Not getting an iPhone. I have no desire for one. It does not look like the type of device that I will need. I will be getting a blackberry from work soon, but I do not know when.

mess - this replaces my pink razr and is for personal use. i have my blackberry from work, and I love the blackberry keyboard and interface, but work has blocked most of the functionality that I'd like, no IM, no javascript websites, etc. so it's limited. both devices work for me. just like I switch between windows and mac, i will switch between iphone and blackberry. wev.

I just killed my old cell phone (got wet on sail boat), so needed a new phone. I almost got the iPhone, but the store had a waiting list, so I got more time to re-consider my decision. The monthly cost is HIGH (locked in for 2 years!!)! Also, they are on the AT&T network. All of my family and squadmates are on Verizon.
I finally decided on small phone w/low monthly fee: Samsung Juke.
Congratulations on your cool new phone! I am jealous! But I still like my little-ish phone.
I almost drank the cool-aid.
Then a friend demos his iPhone that he LOVEs. Wow. Very cool. But too expensive month-to-month for me right now.

Hey Deb, my above Borg reference aside I don't have an iPhone either for many of the same reasons you mentioned. No kool-aid for me, thanks. :)
